The allocation will upgrade the kitchen facilities and multipurpose concession stands at the Amador County Fairgrounds.

Yesterday, the Senate passed her bill, SB 226, with a vote of 36 to 0. This bill classifies the possession of fentanyl while carrying a loaded firearm as a felony.




Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (D-Jackson), a champion for children's rights, has achieved a significant victory in her fight to preserve funding for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. Through her leadership and bipartisan efforts, Senator Alvarado-Gil successfully led a joint request supported by 41 lawmakers from both houses and parties, urging the Appropriations Committee to reject Governor Newsom's proposed $40 million funding cut to the CASA program.




Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (D-Jackson) is pleased with the result of a bipartisan effort through the Problem Solvers Caucus to obtain $40 million in flood prevention funding for the San Joaquin River. This success resulted from Governor Newsom's decision to fulfill the Caucus's budget in the May Revise. This funding was initially proposed to be cut in the Governor's January budget proposal.
