Senator Alvarado-Gil Announces Over $52 Million in District Funding

Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil announced today the investment of over $52 million in funding for critical projects and initiatives in many of the counties that comprise Senate District 4. 

"I am proud to announce over $52 million in funding for vital projects. Current year funding will support critical infrastructure improvements, community development initiatives, and fire-related projects to improve the quality of life for Californians who call Senate District 4 home," stated Alvarado-Gil.

These much-needed allocations will impact over half a million residents across the district. The highlights include:

Stanislaus County:

  • $5,000,000 – City of Modesto: infrastructure improvements to County Islands within city limits.
  • $5,000,000 – Patterson Irrigation District: construction of the East-West Conveyance system between the San Joaquin River and the Delta Mendota Canal.
  • $3,000,000 – Bonita Pool Project and Leroy F. Fitzsimmons Memorial Park.
  • $2,000,000 – Department of Housing and Community Development for a Riverbank Transitional Housing Project.
  • $100,000 – City of Modesto: Boys & Girls Club of Stanislaus County.

El Dorado County:

  • $6,125,000 – Appropriated to the California Tahoe Conservancy.

Placer County:

  • $8,000,000 – Removal of the steel and concrete wreckage of the former State Route 49 Bridge that lies in the American River.

Amador County:

  • $8,100,000 – A new Amador Fire Protection District Fire Station.

Madera County:

  • $2,500,000 – County of Madera for Infrastructure allocated by the Office of Emergency Services.
  • $5,000,000 - support for the Madera Community Hospital.

Merced County:

  • $3,000,000 – Construction of the Dos Palos Library and rehabilitation of the Del Hale Hall Community Center.
  • $5,000,000 – Merced County Public Safety Radio System replacement.

"I appreciate all the hard work and dedication of my colleagues in both the Assembly and the Senate who made this funding possible. I am humbled by knowing my vote will have a tangible impact on the communities I serve. My colleague from Merced, Senator Caballero, led in the collaborative work to secure the $5 million in funding for the Madera County Community Hospital," said Alvarado-Gil. "In the 23-24 budget, I will continue to advocate for the needs of our vast district to secure additional state funding for all of the 13 counties I represent."
