Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (D-Jackson) is announcing the launch of her quarterly public safety roundtable, scheduled to take place virtually on Tuesday, July 2. This significant event will bring together all 13 sheriffs and district attorneys from across Senate District 4, collectively representing nearly 25% of the state's law enforcement leadership.




The California State Legislature has approved a comprehensive budget package that includes funding allocations to Senate District 4. These funds are directed toward higher education, public safety, missing and murdered indigenous people (MMIP) initiatives, and wildlife resources.

In light of recent school threat incidents, including alarming events in Ceres and the ongoing litigation involving Jason Vassar, a Belleview Elementary school board trustee in Tuolumne County who wrote a manifesto about killing children, Senator Alvarado-Gil (D-Jackson) will host a virtual town hall on June 3rd to discuss her bill, SB 796. This bill aims to make it unlawful to threaten to commit a crime that will result in death or great bodily injury at a school or place of worship, even if a specific victim is not named.




In a significant legislative achievement, all five of Senator Alvarado-Gil's (D-Jackson) bills have successfully passed out of the Senate at the conclusion of House of Origin week.
